About This Game Solstice is a very retro wargame, heavily inspired by the classic games Lords of Midnight, Doomdarks Revenge and Sorderon's Shadow. Solstice is not a remake of any of these games but takes its lead from these games to develop a new gaming challenge for lovers of turn-based, menu driven strategy. Displayed using hand-drawn artwork, and using a pseudo-3D technique, often referred to as landscaping, which echoes the games of the time.Set in the mythical land of Dourfrost, a land, trapped in an eternal winter, a land of fantastic beasts, magic and war, Explore and battle across an open world, populated with 11 different mythical races (at launch), and well over a hundred and twenty characters, each with his or her likes, dislikes, needs, aims, desires and loyalties that shape the game and conflicts to come.On release, Solstice will feature one very challenging, turn-based scenario, offering many hours of game-play.The Rise of the Demon King. While the lords and ladies of Dourfrost have squabbled over petty disputes and brokered and broken pacts and alliances, a dark power has been rising in the south. A power that will shake the entire land and threatens to overwhelm all that stands before it, and enslave everyone in its path.Sator Grimward, a dark sorcerer, once thought long defeated, has risen again and united the tribes of the Ice Guard. Can Calith, king of the free folk muster the lords and ladies of Dourfrost, and overcome old bitterness, to bring a force of Freefolk, Dwarfs, Fey, Sidhe, Giants, and 6 other races together to defeat the rising storm.JimJams games are a small, indie development team with a love for the retro games of the '80s and '90s. We only develop games that embrace that era, aiming to provide true classicly styled gaming, with a massive retro feel, maybe with a slight hint of what these games would have been with a little more processing power. We don't aim to develop AAA games, but simply to bring our passion for a time gone by to those who love truly classic themed and inspired games. If this is a genre and era that you love, then our games are for you. 7aa9394dea Title: SolsticeGenre: Adventure, Indie, Strategy, Early AccessDeveloper:JimJams GamesPublisher:JimJams GamesRelease Date: May 2019 Solstice Crack Gamehackstudios solstice 6304. solstice west. the red solstice free steam key. solstice english to spanish. solstice in english pronunciation. solstice eng nl. solstice 5k. solstice glassdoor. solstice new dark age torrent. solstice zenith. solstice lingerie. watch winter solstice online free. solstice chocolate nut free. solstice 500 5th avenue. solstice full life. solstice june 21. solstice quest inflatable boat. macpac solstice sleeping bag. solstice pray rar. solstice 368bhss. solstice download. define solstice in english. solstice hardtop. solstice 70 el monte. solstice mac system requirements. astralia solstice rar. solstice 800 dental plan. solstice client windows 10. the red solstice free on humble bundle. solstice school of english. solstice 19. solstice word meaning in english. solstice 2007. solstice full soundtrack. solstice 2008. solstice of heroes cheats. solstice tattoo. solstice english term. solstice gxp coupe. summer solstice full movie. solstice password. solstice update. solstice key stuck in ignition. solstice user guide. 9125 solstice circle parkland fl. solstice castle key. solstice cyberjaya. solstice client install. free solstice ecards. solstice 42nd street. winter solstice free pics. solstice sunglasses keyholder salary. solstice free download. solstice 5k edmonton. images solstice full moon. solstice quick connect download. solstice 377rden. solstice slasher. solstice for windows 10. solstice for windows. solstice 70 el monte. buddha bar solstice sessions torrent. solstice download for pc. solstice nes music. summer solstice pics free. solstice soiree disc golf. solstice in full moon. solstice zinnie harris. solstice white horse hill download. oneshot solstice free download. solstice 4k. solstice oxford english dictionary Wish there was a 'meh' option. I didn't hate this? but I can't really say I'd recommend it.The romantic interests were really boring and felt as shoed in as the romances in most action movies. Good thing there was the option to completely ignore them without hurting/changing the plot at all.The game's very pretty. The character designs are great for the protagonists .. (not for the romance interests) ... but the plot didn't really change enough based on your actions. There might be a slightly different scene here or there, but it all leads to the same ending where one of 5 things happens. The variants system is a little irritating as one character only really has 3 variants? but you need to get them 3 times each because they're counted as different across 3 endings despite no real changes between them. The world building was good, and the location was nice, but I honestly feel not enough was done with the setting. Overall I just felt .. disappointed. There's some good here. But on the whole I just can't recommend it unless you're getting it on sale, and not expecting much from it.. I'm a bit sad to give this game a thumbs down but there are a few strongly negative things about this game that deserve it and are compelling me to write this review. Firstly, the technical issues. You'd think that for a visual novel, the chance for bugs and issues would be low but that is not the case. It is convenient that the game auto-saves at times, but only because in only the first 5 hours of playing, the game has crashed inexplicably 4 times. I will just be going along and suddenly the game is gone. Sometimes it happens with no warning, other times it seems to happen when opening or closing the journal. Regardless, it's extremely irritating. There are also issues with the way the text displays, oftentimes jumping out of the text box to scroll all the way across the screen. This makes it very disconcerting when trying to read the text - something you're doing nonstop since this is a visual novel. Secondly, the format issues. Normally, visual novels are written from first person perspective. You play as the main character and are inside their head with access to their thoughts and motivations. This game has 2 'main' characters that you, the player, make choices for, but the game is wholly third person. There are no thoughts ever given to the player outside of small 'journal writing' sections, and key events that the 'main' characters participate in are kept secret from the player. This may work in a novel written from the third person where the reader is learning about the main character and discovering their secrets, but it doesn't work at all when you are supposed to be controlling these characters half the time but the other half of the time, you have no idea what they are up to. The format makes it hard to understand the characters which is just compounded when the game keeps switching perspective between its two leads. Finally, the story issues. I like a mystery story and this game is trying to be that in some ways, but due to the format, it's impossible to 'reason' anything or know what's actually going on when you can't even trust that you know what your main characters are up to. I like the setting of the story in general and the story that it is telling. The side characters are interesting as well. But the way the story is told make it frustrating more than intriguing. If the game absolutely had to be told from two different perspectives, I wish that they could have made the player choose which perspective to play the game from at first and then they are bound to that perspective for the entire game. Then they can replay it a second time to find out what the other character was up to.Anyway, there are definitely some pros about this game which makes me still want to recommend this game to people who accept the above issues. The art is sublime. The backgrounds are really beautiful, but the characters are all really well-drawn too. As others have mentioned, the characters are also quite diverse which is rare but very welcome. Of course there are still more white men than anyone else though, so don't get too excited about it. It's still nice to have some diversity, however. I also find the story to be an interesting one. I just wish that the format didn't hinder the story so much. It really makes me wonder why the developers thought this would be the best way to present their story. Overall, I can't recommend this game to the average player because the cons just detract too much from what could be a really cool story. The technical issues and challenges of the way they chose to present the story break immersion constantly and the format also keeps too much hidden to actually make the story a mystery that the player can solve. However, I think the potential for a great game and story is in this game so if you're curious and willing to deal with the cons, I could recommend this game when it goes on sale for maybe $12 or less. It's worth $15 if you're really desperate for diversity, I suppose, but keep in mind that this is a fantasy setting, so even if there is an Asian-presenting character, or a Black-presenting character, they won't actually be representative of a real-world cultural member of that ethnicity (if you care about more than appearances).. There's a staggering amount of dialogue and a huge number of possible endings to this game and I have yet to discover them all (and wondering whether it's actually possible to get the combination that I'd most like to see). The story is pretty complex and playing as either Galen or Yani at certain points in the game will have you learn things about the other character that will make you rethink your own actions. Although there is a relatively small number of backgrounds and the character animations consider mostly of having various poses, I do not consider this a problem in the slightest. The backgrounds have a beautiful other-wordly feel of wonder to them and the characters too are very well-drawn with a lot of personality.Don't expect a lot of action (speaking of "action" - I love the dialogue after Galen gets some of that other kind of action), but if you're looking for a well thought out story with compelling characters and beautiful visuals to boot, you should definitely have a look at Solstice.. Visuals are beautiful, enjoyed the music. While there's no voice acting, it's nice that they use various sound effects to emphasize specific sentences (for example, one reminded me a bit of Ace Attorney's Objection! sound effect). Unfortunately, I get some technical issues (mainly a memory leak, see below) on my aging Win7x64 computer.Like most VNs, you should enjoy reading. Scenes (like meeting characters) are often mixed with journal/diary-like entries where you read your thoughts on the situation and build up to the next scene. You follow the story of two characters- learning more and more about them, the isolated city they've moved into, and its inhabitants as the game progresses. You can often guide the attitude or direction of conversation but you should know that you don't have full control. Characters aren't a blank slate. I was fine with it but just something to note.As a note: there is romance (complete with cheesy lines), there's some blunt talk about sex, and there are fade-to-black moments (nothing shown). You can avoid romance if you're uncomfortable with it.Another nice VN from the developer of Cinders. If you enjoyed one you should check out the other.Other thoughts: I would've liked more setting controls (like volume sliders). While the VN standard is to have characters emote in various poses for lines of dialogue, the poses here are often animated (not fluid animation, just repeating a frame or two) which is a nice touch. Your choices kind of adjust the attitude/perspective/thought pattern characters have which may change the epilogue and flavor dialogue here or there (or more rarely the options you have available). Permanently set to skip unread text only (which is nice unless you are replaying and lost your save file from re-installation or something). Would be nice to have the option to skip all text (and then also more rollback). It's really helpful that the game automatically collects notes about things you learn as the game progresses so you have an easy (though not 100% comprehensive) reference to things you learn about characters and the city. I enjoyed that some mysteries were unclear to me. There are various suspects and there is various circumstantial evidence that you could use, pointing to different people but you don't necessarily get the big picture until it's too late. I enjoyed the variety of epilogues. I wish there was a secret/specific path where you could find evidence against a certain person before the trial. It would make understanding what's happened and using your knowledge in repeat playthroughs more meaningful.Bug thoughts: After long sessions I get an Out of Memory Error error. It seems like I'm experiencing a memory leak (memory usage climbs as scenes change). The game goes from 100KB+ on launch to over 3GB before it crashes. Autosave worked well enough after a crash. Doesn't feel like skip works perfectly. I figured out that for whatever reason it usually didn't work (pressing it only made the sound effect) but if I rolled back a line I could always enable skip mode that skipped to the next choice. It then worked properly when re-enabling it after an unread section (though it bugs out again when ending skip mode manually). It's unfortunate that skip mode doesn't skip the journal entry intermissions, though. For some reason I get an application error (memory could not be written) on launch but as long as I ignore the box (moving it away) I can play the game. I noticed that it launched a GOG Galaxy service (I have GOG Galaxy installed but not running) and on a whim I decided to remove Galaxy.dll and GOG.gml.dll from the steam Solstice install folder. Doing so made the application error not appear. Once while skipping text in the party scene, I noticed Lem and Yani were too far to the left (Yani offscreen, Lem halfway onscreen, perhaps because earlier on the screen shifted to the right earlier in the scene to avoid eavesdropping). Once I randomly encountered a fatal error (out of bounds, called from - gml_Object_character_animated_parent_Draw_0 (line 33)) but it worked fine when loading the autosave and I never saw the error again.. Solstice” is a good visual novel in classic style (no-manga), taking place in a fantasy world infused with magic and with steampunk flavor. The story follows two protagonists: a doctor-magician from southern lands with hedonistic approach to life, and a dutiful technician from an organization of tech-architects. These disparate characters have both the same mission though: to save a city on the frozen north from doom at the hands of an unknown saboteur and clutches of deadly winter. The game is fully illustrated in beautifully drawn sceneries with animated figures and has good music, and will last for several hours until you unlock all variants (coming in four different endings) by carefully choosing what to say or do in certain situations. The main problem I have with this game is its price; 18€ for a game that is essentially a bunch of texts arranged in a decision tree and few pictures with only some basic animation is just too much in my opinion. But it’s well worth a try for fans of this genre when it’s offered at a discount.. Degenerate.. Tags: Adventure - VN - Visual NovelAdditional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from LibraryTLDR: Narrative is split among multiple protagonists. There were occasional typos and engine issues with appearing text. Quality of writing failed with uneven tones for the faux period fantasy era.. The artwork is beautiful, the music is too loud and cheerful, the characters are annoying and all are pompous idiots, the story is so-so, the detective plotline is nonexistent, the humour is crude, the drama is far-fetched, the thriller is a joke. This game reminded me why I don't play visual novels, at least made by western developers.. overall i would recommend this game (obviously) even if i definitely didn't love it. Sudoku3D 2: The Cube Autosave size and difficalty: Size and difficalty automatically saved when applied. The next time the game is launched, they will automatically be applied..
